Title: Different colors and contrasts in PS, LR, C1, OSX Preview ...
Post by: robertmaybach on September 30, 2010, 06:24:53 am
hi all!

i have the problem of inconsistent color display (nuances) in
photoshop cs4
lightroom 3.2, colors even slightly change as i switch from develop to library module :-(
osx preview
capture one

every program renders colors and contrasts slightly different (especially visible and measureable in dark tones)

i have a macbook pro with osx 10.6.4 and an external eizo cg214w
tried calibration in eizo's color navigator, basiccolor and spyder3pro (macbook screen only, because no hardware calibration
no matter how i calibrate, v4 or v2, matrix or tables, differences are visible on macbook pro screen and eizo screen

anyone has an idea? i'm lost ... :-(

thanks for any input
robert

Make sure you are building V2 profiles for the display.

In LR, its “normal” to see slightly different previews in the modules. You want to view 1:1 in Develop for the most accurate/matching previews.

thanks, andrew!
i'm on v2 profiles for both screens, since i read a statement by you in another thread :-)
strange to read it's normal ...
so i guess it is normal as well to have slight differences in all the other software (?)
maybe these are rounding errors of different algorithms, that would be a reason why it is most visible in the darker tones
very strange ... :-(
best
