Title: damaged jpegs

Hello!
 My jpegs and jpeg thumbnails frequently have grey bars on the bottom of them indicating file damage.

What is the best utility to get them back?

Hm, i think none. It is more likely that your media card or hard disk have bad sectors and image is damaged when it "sits" on that damaged space. But try this: Rotate image (left or right) and try to save it that way. In some cases the image is shown full. I have try that and it worked.
