I have been waiting for a good price on the 3880, and this seems pretty good:
Here in Canada, at Vistek:

It's cheaper at B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/649771-REG/Epson_CA61201_VM_Stylus_Pro_3880_Large_Format.html

Just received mine from ITSupplies. Same great deal (1149-300 mail in rebate), ordered Thursday late afternoon and received Tuesday afternoon.

That's a nice price - but the Vistek is cheaper for me: I can go and pick it up (no shipping) and I suspect I would pay duty on an order from B&H.

Well I'm choked. Just bought one from Vistek with invoice date July 19.

Ha! I bought mine July 30th. I try not to think about it.

B&H also offers free shipping in the USA ...
However, not sure what the shipping would be to you in Canada, but with a $70 difference in retail price, I think you'd still come out ahead using B&H+ shipping.

It's even cheaper at Atlex.com. $1,099 less $300 rebate is $799. And that includes shipping.
Keep in mind that a complete set of ink and a new waste tank is about $425. You're only paying $374 more for the printer.
Now it's time for the fun math. A two year extension on the warranty is $300 and entitles you to a refurbished printer should yours die.
For $75 more, you can have a spare, brand new, printer waiting to use.
The downside, is that buying a spare only covers one failure. The upside is that it covers all failures (even if you drop your original printer) and you don't need to wait for the replacement to arrive. If you never use the spare, you can likely get a few hundred on ebay for an unused 3880 without ink.
If you operate multiple 3880s, having a spare is probably a good idea. The spare printer can replace any of your 3880s that fail. If you prefer the extended warranty, you would need one for each of your printers.

Doh! I guess I just spent $50 too much :'(

That is a great value and exactly why I bought mine.

I didn't bother with the extended warranty. Most people have had their 3800s last quite awhile, and when mine finally breaks I figure it will be time to move onto a new one anyway.

If I had multiple 3880s, I would already have a spare :P
