1. Anyone (Mr. Schewe?) know how this will differ from standard Photoshop books, like the one Martin Evening has done on his own?
2. What about a release date?...
I see this book advertised on amazon.co.uk...written by Evening and Schewe...and it's available for pre-order...
thanks for any insight...

I dont know about the CS5 version (until your post I was not even aware they were doing a CS5 version). But.. I do have the CS4 version and its pretty much my bible for Photoshop. It assumes a level of knowledge above beginner and its specific to certain techniques (not for beginners) - But, those techniques are extremely important and useful to know for a good majority of photographers I would wager.
I have enjoyed and used the CS4 version and continue to do so - I imagine the CS5 version will just be bringing it up to date for the latest PS edition.

Aha...I skipped the upgrade to CS4 from CS3 so I never heard about an 'ultimate' book before...so I went and researched the CS4 version...there are some opinions on the amazon site which did explain a bit what the book is...that helps...I'd like a more in depth book like this...
I've been using photoshop since version 2.2 or 2.5 and I'm continually amazed at how much there is to know, it's a bottomless pit of a program...mostly I learn what I need for the work I'm doing and rarely have the time to venture into the photoshop depths...but I'm aware that i have lots to learn...that became evident to me years ago when I hired in a photoshop retoucher who at that time worked for Time Magazine...that was an eye opener...watching him work, jeez...photoshop magicians...
thanks Josh...

For the CS5 version, sometime in early fall.
