I have been using the 64 bit pro version of Helicon Focus on a 2009 Mac Pro with 24 gb of RAM running OS X 10.6.4. The program seems to work fine with multiple 16 bit P65 files(365 mb) in terms of being able to load the files and output a TIFF using the render command. However, I have found that the retouching function just does not work. The brush action is very jerky and you cannot undo any or even all brush strokes. I loaded several smaller JPEGs and the issues went away. Is anyone using HF with 16 bit P65 files, or is the program just maxxed out with such files?
Thanks.

Hi Jack. It is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 120.

Hi Jack. It is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 120.
I'd send Dannylo an email and ask him, he's very responsive to users. I suspect it's an issue with how his software is utilizing the video, but he'll know for sure and may already be aware of it. I have not noticed any issues with my P65+ files, but I have not used HF enough since I got the P65+ to make a blanket statement. I'm also running a GTX 285 which has 1G of VRAM.

The retouch is often not so needed for my needs, but I have used it with 16bit P25 TIFF max files, and it works well for them. I have also had good response from them, and would make a note to them.
Cheers

I sent Dannylo an email about this earlier. In the meantime, I did hear from a very knowledgeable source(Joe Holmes) that there were issues with 16 bit P45 files in the earlier, 32 bit version of HF, but not with the 64 bit version. It would appear that even the 64 bit version is not up to the task of handling 16 bit P65 files.
