Title: fimd files with NO keywords
Post by: Bob Nicholson on July 04, 2010, 03:40:49 pm
Hi folks

Is there a way, in LR 3, of doing a search to find files which do NOT have keywords assigned?

Cheers
Bob

You can create a Smart Collection with the criterion of Keywords - Are Empty.

That'll work.

You can set up a Library Filter to filter by "TEXT".
Change the first column to Keyword
Select None
Save the filter

Then it can be applied to individual folders and collections-at will so you can easily piece-meal the keyword application.

Sort of, but you don't filter by 'Attribute', you filter by 'Text' and under Text you select 'Keywords' -> 'Are Empty'.  Attributes are for star ratings, picks/ rejects, colour symbols, etc.  Your description might throw off some newbies.

Mike.

P.S.  To see the Filter Bar you press the \ key, at least in Windows.

Same on Mac.

There are some special delimitation characters for searches too, which include not* but I can't remember what they are. Surely they are in the help section of search functions.
