Title: Canon Pixma Pro 9500 (older one) and Snow Leopard?
Post by: BernhardFuhry on June 25, 2010, 10:15:32 am
hi!

with my Epson R800 I get consistently way too dark prints, even after following all the guides and calibrating with color munki. It seems the Epson drivers simply don't work well with the new Apple printing path.

So I think about trying a Canon. A used 9500 Pro would be nice, but I noticed that the 9500 Pro printer drivers at the canon support website are way older than the 9500 Mark II drivers, so I wonder how well the older 9500 Pro works with Snow Leopard, especially how it copes with the different Gamma value (2.2 vs. 1.8) of SL.

Also, does it work well in Auto mode vs. Color Calibrated workflow, like I use?

thanks a lot
Bernhard

I use the 9500 "Mk. I" with PS5 and Snow Leopard, and it works fine. I haven't had any gamma issues.
