Title: First lens ?

18-70 DX.  Equivalent to 28- 105 in 355mm.  Lens is inexpensive ( in Canada anyway $495CDN or so) and optical quality is very good.

New to digital. Starting with the D-100, awesome camera. Suggestion as to first lens as costs for going digital are going through the roof. Thanks.  :cool:

If you're going cheap, I do most of my D1x shooting with the nikkor 28-105 macro. Not a new lens, it translates at about 47-160, which covers most of the range for my style of street shooting. Prolly find it pretty cheap on ebay. plus itsa macro
