Title: 7900 Only Prints In the Service Mode
Post by: deanb2010 on May 15, 2010, 10:39:34 am
I've had something unusual happen.  I almost always print in the service mode because I wanted more control over nozzle checks and cleaning.  Today, when I tried to print in the standard mode, all that would happen is the print head would move back and forth like it was printing, but no ink was put down, and the paper didn't move.  I finally had to cancel the job and go back to the service mode to print. In service mode it prints perfectly well.

Has anyone seen this, or what am I missing?

Thanks.

Strange. Not sure what to say, service mode is designed primarily as a diagnostic mode, for resolving problems, never really heard of anyone actively printing in the service mode. I would try the basics, power on and off the printer in the standard mode. And if on a Mac try removing and then reinstalling then drivers. If that does not work try resetting the printer to factory defaults.
