Title: replaceing MFD lcd with something better
Post by: condit79 on May 09, 2010, 06:04:20 pm
is this possible?

made me think that there are options to buy an LCD screen and I wonder if its even possible.  I know it would void a warranty but it would get you a better screen in a phase back for example...just a thought.

(Most) MFDs do not have hi-res colour live view, so I thought about using a sliding back and a red 645 as a viewing system, with video as a side-benefit!

Not the most cost-effective solution, but could it work?

The only practical way to do it is if the replacement screen has an identical form factor and electrical interface, in which case the only benefit might be a brighter screen.

Trying to fit a great LCD onto a small digital back seems like an exercise in futility anyway. Why not use a much larger laptop screen in tethered mode?

Wireless tethering would be the best way forward, imo.

I hope the developer come out with something for iPad just to preview the pictures but I think it's very hard with FW connection
My need is only a standard preview of jpeg immedded in the files
