Title: Windblown
Post by: John R on February 13, 2010, 08:16:34 pm
This is combination of camera movement and blowing snow. I was trying to impart a sense of mystery in windblown area of forest.

Edit- Second image is from same day and scene.

Interesting, almost looks like a charcol drawing, good effect though

Very nice image.
I like the atmosphere it creates and feel easily "connected" to it.
I also like, that you used a very simple technique to create that lovely image
and not some over sophisticated digital whatsever.
This is something I can really respect.
Thanks for sharing.

*Very* nicely done.  I agree that it looks a bit like a charcoal drawing.  Great atmosphere.

Thank you all for the comments. For some reason the effects come out better in BW. I have added a second image from scene, rather than start a new thread. It looks like moonlight in the forest.

I think the second image is one of the best ones you've posted here. Your manipulation of the image is subtler and more appealing to me than the treatment the first shot received. I've always felt that less is more when altering a photo in PP.

Thanks, but I did not manipulate the first image. It is simply a camera-downward motion while the wind is blowing snow.

Ditto that.

2nd image is quite well done.
