Title: GIGAPixel Photography
Post by: ARD on February 08, 2010, 02:27:32 pm
Been looking at this photo

GIGPixel Dresden (http://www.dresden-26-gigapixels.com/dresden26GP)

In the info pane at the bottom is says the photo was taken using a 5D MKII and a 400mm lens. It also says the photo was taken by a Robot, I presume a machine that is computer controlled to obtain every required shot.

What I can't understand is, when you zoom into the photo the far off detail seems too good for a 400mm lens.

take a look at gigapan.org or gigapan.com. They make gear for smaller cameras, but the principles are similar.

I think I understand every individual word in this comment but I have no idea what you are trying to say. Please explain!

This is Art of Photography.

Are you trying to kill the magic?

Suspension of belief is de rigueure in these matters.

The examples remind me of Ansel Adams' quote about the sharp image and the fuzzy concept...
