Title: Burst of Winter whiteness
Post by: John R on January 20, 2010, 02:18:42 pm
Took this one today. Love the bursting lines. Three beautiful trees that cried, "can you see us amid the winter whiteness." Taken on Gore Road, Caledon.

Added a second image, which is far more abstract. Love the verticals amid the blue-mauve background.

Interesting interpretation of "Winter", the first works very well for me at #2  I´m uncertain what I think about it, but I come back later an look at it again !

Thanks Bill, Eric and Rob. The first is a simple zoom and it still retains the characteristics of reality. But the second is closer to a true abstract and I like the juxtaposition of the elements and their colours. Like most abstracts, it's not for everyone.

I prefer the second one, because the manipulation is less obvious and I find the subtle contrast between
the vertical trees and the subdued horizontal background appealing.
