Title: WTB: Scanner
Post by: gubaguba on January 20, 2010, 12:04:08 pm
I am looking to scan a bunch of prints, negatives, and film positives that are part of my families archive.  I would like the scans to be good as I am spending time on it.  Looking for something similar to Epson 750V which seems like a good compromise it can scan prints and negs.  Thought I throw it out here and see.  Perhaps some of you have a decent quality scanner collecting dust having gone digital.  USB connection and OS X software, can do SCSI in a pinch.

If you are scanning 35mm film, I would suggest that you buy a dedicated film scanner instead of a flatbed.

I have the v700 (not selling right now - sorry ;>). It is decent for 645, good for 6x7 and above. For 35mm you will have to work very hard to get decent scans that are almost automatic on the dedicated film scanners.

Oh well - free bump! Good luck.

Best,
Michael
