Title: On The Way Home
Post by: Joe Behar on January 10, 2010, 04:49:36 pm
After a very cold and photographically unproductive morning,  I decided to take a new route home.

I think I'll take this road more often.

C&C welcome and appreciated.[attachment=19341:Barn_B_W_Web.jpg]

Looks cold and desolate. Very effective shot.

It looks like a scene worth revisiting at various times of day and year.

Great shot, Joe. I think I was there. Somewhere in Caledon?

First class shot, Joe. I especially like the triangle formed by the horizon and the foreground drift. Bravo!

John,

Its on Castlederg Side  Rd, somewhere east of Humber Station Rd.

If you go, do yourself a favour and let things warm up a bit. The wind was howling and my fingers darn near froze off.

Yep, that's the place. I thought I recognized it. I have photos from that area, but none as evocative as this one. Humber Station Rd going north is quite nice. I once followed a now old book by Ron Brown, called "The Back roads of Ontario." Great because he would guide the reader to various remains around the backroads and explain their history.  Ironically enough, he got the Badlands all wrong. It is not an abandoned brickworks but simply too much deforestation. Of course there is a nearby clay brickworks. Great book nevertheless for photographers like us.

Nice capture, Joe.  I remember that area...  I'd like to say I miss the snow, but after so many years working up north, I really don't.

Really nice shot ! Only the fence on the right disturbs me a little, but´s just my opinion ! Good angle and composition !

I like the flow  of this one.  The barn fits right in with the languid motion of the clouds.  Curvy and sryupy shot.
