Title: Netbooks when traveling
Post by: MrIconoclast on January 09, 2010, 04:49:23 pm
Hi folks,

I am wondering if anybody has found the little netbook computers useful while traveling?    I had not thought of using one since I have an iPod touch, which is great for checking e-mail and other lite internet usage while traveling.  I am what people would call an advanced amateur.

I recently acquired a netbook  as part of a deal when buying other equipment. Normally, I would not have purchased one and I am considering selling it.  But, I am wondering if it would provide any photographic advantages while traveling.   Currently, I keep all my photos on a number of CF cards.  I simply store the cards in my luggage, but I do nothing to back up the images while I travel   When I get home I down load the photos to my computer and immediately back them up.

I would appreciate hearing from people who have brought a netbook with them while traveling and, especially, how useful you think it is.

Thanks.
