I was just looking at my 7600 that has run tens of thousand of prints through it and I see inside that there are foam pieces on the path that the head takes. I am seeing some, okay a lot, of ink build up. Can these be removed? If so how? Tried getting them out but they do not want to come and I hate to break it. Can they just be washed or do they need to be replaced?
Thanks,

Check out Spectrflow's web site (http://www.spectraflow.com/tech-tips.html). Tip #9 talks about something they call "Puddling the Cap". Interesting name, the technique might help clean your printer head. I did it on mine and it helped, although it took a couple of times.
