Title: USB cable - maximum length for tethered shooting

Hello

What is the longest USB cable I can use to shoot tethered (Macbook Pro /5DII)?
Is repeater needed?  Thank you! ~m

I use a lindy (i'm sure other brands work as well) 5m active extension with a 5 meter usb cable out off the left hand usb (on a 2.6 alu MBP) without a problem. I have a feeling that under 10.5.8 its alittle slower than 10.5.7 but I dont have the time at the moment to test it to be sure.
