What kind of equipment do I need to make a timed exposure on a Mamiya AFD III beyond 30 seconds? Will the RS402 allow a person to program in a timed exposure of, say 3 minutes and perform the shot? If not, what equipment do photographers use to perform long, timed exposures other than holding the cable release and watching a timer?

I currently use the release cable myself, Not sure if there is a remote like the Canon one that you cam set the time, Never seen one myself. Another option might be through the computer somehow??
The bummer with release cable is to risk moving the camera by accidently holding it that long...
Let us know if you find a solution.

The cable release has a lock so you can let it run as long as you like without touching it, then simply stop the exposure.

Take a look at our multi-pop/ multi-exposure adapter. This may be an option that you could use:
