Title: The Gleaners
Post by: Rob C on June 12, 2009, 05:28:55 am
Nice, evocative image.

I used the word classical because that mood has been used to effect in many different ways, the one that sprang to mind at once was of Scottish huntin´n´shootin´, the feeling of wide open country estates, the good life for all but the birds.

As ever, it displays the huge power of simplicity.

Actually, I think they're hoers, not gleaners, but the title "The Hoers" would be a wee bit problematic.

A very nice shot indeed. It creates a very fine and quiet atmosphere.
it also immediately reminded me of two 2006 shots I made, days after I bought my first dSLR, with the latter one winning first prize in a EU contest about the Dutch/German border area.
