Title: profile photo upload problems
Post by: Hansen Photo on June 08, 2009, 12:59:32 am
Is there a trick to upload a profile photo?  I've made sure my image is less than 150x150 and under 100k and saved as a jpeg.   I've tried Firefox and Safari and for several days and have given it a basic name (logo.jpg) with no avail.  I keep getting "The upload failed. Please contact a board administrator." message

Anyone have any ideas?

I had exactly the same problem, and although having tried twice to contact an administrator, have so far had no reply.

Avatars should work properly now.

Avatars work fine if the instructions are followed. Profile Pictures is a non-functional bug feature...IMHO

Yes, there is.

You have to go to your control panel, and go to 'Edit Avatar Settings'

There, in the field "Enter a URL to an online avatar image", if you enter an url to an image of yours, it will appear in all your posts, althoug in a 90x90 size. That requires of course that you have a personal site to upload an image of yours, and that the url leading to that image is understood by the system. I say this because I tried urls to pictures to attachments on posts of this site, and they do not work, but urls to pictures on my site, work OK.
