Title: F828 Sports Photography
Post by: Lin Evans on February 04, 2004, 01:28:18 am
That's pretty well it except I'm not sure you want it to be on continuous focus. For sports, unless the subjects are all at infinity focus, you have too little control over what's in and out of focus that way. I would suggest experimenting with manual focus and try to avoid continuous auto-focus.

Even with dSLR's it's easy to "fool" the autofocus when you are set-up to shoot a particular subject or subjects and a player runs in front of the frame. With manual or instant focus you have a better chance of avoiding this problem.

Greetings, fellow photographers!
As a new owner of the Sony F828, I have gotten superb results when shooting "still-life" or non-action subjects...see link below for an example:

However, I am also a weekend shooter of soccer games...Does anyone have suggested settings to optimize the F828 in this regard, other than high shutter speed, continous focus mode, and panning with action?
Many thanks!
Steve
