Title: Canon 1Ds - Infrared
Post by: on July 15, 2003, 08:49:32 am
I haven't tried it, but the 1Ds along with almost all DSLRs aren't really capable of recording in the Infrared, because they incorporate IR filters to actually reduce IR. There are some digicams that do better at this though.

There are a few softeware programs and plug-ins that do a nice job of simulating IR, though I have only played with a couple and aren't qualified to rate them.

Michael,

I know infrared images can be cliché, but I thought I might have some fun trying it one day.  Is the sensor on the 1Ds sensitive enough to the IR spectrum to permit a decent IR image?   I am curious if you have tested the camera's IR capability.

Thanks!

Steve
