Title: Need a very good Giclee printing services
Post by: SeanBK on May 26, 2009, 02:18:35 pm
I need to print a few Giclee prints. Any recommendation who I should use. The largest will be 24"x30" black & white on paper. Not sure whether to use Hahnemuhle Photo rag or Hahnemuhle Turner watercolor or Museo Silver Rag.
Any suggestion for gallery quality Giclee prints? Any help will be highly appreciated.
     Thanx.

I used them for many years before I bought my Epson 9600.  (Now long sold in favor of the much smaller 3800).  They do very nice work with a variety of paper and ink options.  I had West Coast make prints both for my own gallery shows and for commercial clients.

I have the Epsom 7900, with three shades of black, and colorburst, which should give state-of-the-art monochrome... but I am on the right side of the pond - anyone know of a good printer in the UK? ... for 5 foot by 15 foot pictures? pictures?

If you're looking for quality Giclee Printing, I own a small local Giclee Printing shop in Mesa, AZ.  We do alot of local business, but we can also ship anywhere.  In the US is cheaper and easier.  But, we can ship overseas if necessary.  We'll work something out.

In any case, we offer large format giclee printing (http://www.favillephoto.com) services on a variety of media types, and we can print at any size from 4x6 to 40x60.  Our most popular media is stretched canvas (http://www.favillephoto.com/canvasprint.html).

We also offer reproduction services, so we can digitally capture an original work of art and create prints from that.

Anyway, I'm not sure of your location, or if you've already found a quality giclee printer, but if you're still looking, take a look at our website, either at the links above or www.favillephoto.com (http://www.favillephoto.com).  Give us a call or an e-mail if you have any questions at all.

Dick,

Have a look at Chau Digital in London for prints up to 44" wide by any length, they are the ones to go to if you want the best.

The Print Space is worth a look, they also do LED output to RA4 paper in large sizes.

Well you could go to the shop where the term was first uttered (Giclee) although they never used it and prefer "Fine Art Digital Print". That be Nash Editions in Manhattan Beach. If you've ever seen any of the prints at an Epson event, then you've seen their work. Outstanding.

Ionaca (London) can print up to 44" wide using an HP Z3200.
http://ionaca.com (http://ionaca.com)

Ionaca produced 86 b&w Z3200 prints for the recent John Hoppy Hopkins exhibition in London.
The London Evening Standard gave a maximum 5 stars for the exhibition.

Ionaca also produces prints exclusively for The Few Gallery (founded by Hannes Unt of Loovvool in Estonia).

If you would prefer a professional photographer to do your printing instead of a lab, I highly recommend Peter Figen in Marina Del Rey, CA. You can contact him through his website: www.peterfigen.com
