Title: Fir tree with cone

Just a simple framing of a pine/fir cone with the needles/leaves.

I think this one would be improved by following the Rule of Thirds on this one.  To my eye, you could crop out the left "open air" portion, and it would be a more effective composition.

Would you believe... spruce?

Take one needle and roll it between thumb and finger.  Spruce needles are square in cross-section.

Thanks - I was thinking about that but nixed it, primarily because of the colors on the left. Really tough call.

I hope I can remember this. It's funny how some of these come about. The photo group were concentrating on flowers, and I wasn't getting anything worthwhile there, so I looked around for some odds and ends, and - spruce be it!
