Title: Speeding up Photoshop on MacBookPro 17"
Post by: jsch on April 25, 2009, 05:36:03 am
Hi,

I would like to speed up Photoshop on my MacBookPro 17" (mod. 12/2006, first generation Core2Duo with 3GB max. memory). I have 3GB installed. Is it possible to built more memory in this model. Can I use one of the new 4 GB modules in this MBP, any expericene?

Is it possible to use something like this item:
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20Wor...g/8566DDR3S4GB/ (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/8566DDR3S4GB/)

Thank you,
Johannes

well, you can *add* the memory but the computer wont be able to use it so it's a total waste of money and time.

it's due to the version of Intel chipset that was used in the first 1 or 2 generation IntelMac and that it 'stole' the last 1GB of memory of
the 4GB address space.
