Title: Mac Pro > Hard Drives Configuration?
Post by: amoergosum on April 21, 2009, 10:38:52 am
Hi,
I've purchased my first Mac Pro a couple of weeks ago (2x2,26Ghz 8, core, 12GB RAM,
ATI 4870, 1TB Boot Drive). So there are still 3 free hard drive slots inside.
I'm primarily using Photoshop CS4 but I want to get into video editing, too
(Canon 5D MKII HD files >>> Final Cut Pro). Since I don't know so much about
the world of Raid settings and striping I was wondering what you'd recommend
in regards to scratch discs and Raid.
I thought of just purchasing a second 1TB hard drive and use it as a scratch disc for
Photoshop & Final Cut Pro. Or would you purchase 2 additional hard drives and
use it as one Raid0 scratch disc?
cheers,
Ben
