Dizzam! Finally a twisty LCD from Canikon. Now if the other half would do the same.
I demand a twisty LCD on the 60D!

AF-S lenses only, if you want to meter. I understand this, Nikon is aiming it at people who wouldn't really consider alternate lenses, older lenses.
But it's the same problem with the other low-end D's. IMO, you are better off going for one of these instead:
Sony A350
Olympus new E-620
Panasonic G1
P.S. I own a D1X, D300 and D100 so it's not an anti-Nikon thing.

I am not sure how you can reach this conclusion before tests results have been released, and this is not a pro-Nikon thing.
Cheers,
Bernard

None of those do video and compared to the 5DmkII and GH1 it appears to be relatively cheap.

Its like the D40 and D 60 , it only autofocuses with AFS lenses, meters just fine with AF CPU lenses (read AF)

Video was probably not the top priority in that choice of alternatives to the D5000.
But if video is important, there is no need for the 5DMkII: the new 500D does video at a price similar to the D5000. Also, the GH1 body will probably be in the same price range as those two: the US$1500 price is for a GH1 kit with the video-adapted 10x zoom, a lens expected to retail for about $900.
