I thought it was about time that I jumped into the fray again.
This is one of my personal favourites from last autumn, and I wanted to post this shortly after taking it, but it appears that I didn't.

Jani, That's really fine work. Good seeing! I think it's just as good in B&W, which is my usual test for this kind of photograph:

Reminiscent of "Desperately Seeking Susan".

I think the golden glow around the post and to a lesser extent, the pulleys, which separates these elements from the background somewhat, is what makes them come alive. Nice.

I agree with that. I much prefer the color version. The BW version is not bad at all but the warm lighting (in color photo) helps to detach the "tree" from the background.

Thanks for the warm reception!
I did try it in black and white myself, but settled for this version for reasons similar to those mentioned by John and François.
It still works on canvas at around 60 cm x 80 cm (66x86 including wrap), though I suspect it wouldn't satisfy pixel peepers. I've been asked several times, "who painted that", hee-hee.

I just saw this, Jani- well done. What do you think about cropping just a bit from the right, say, to the outer margin of the "A" ?

That could work, thanks.
When I had it printed, I had to choose a different crop:

I think it works quite well with more of the background graffiti.
I have one complaint with the print shop, and that is that they didn't wrap it as I'd have liked them to (apparently, they have resized the document after receiving it), so the star pattern, the top left pulley and the M are partially wrapped around the edge. But it helped me see how well it worked as a large print.
