Phase One just released Capture One 4.7 today. There are some much anticipated improvements with the new release. Here is a quick list of some of the additions to the new version:
1. Added tethered support (Pro version) for Canon 5D Mk II and Nikon D3X
2. Newly designed file format - (.eip new file extension) allows packaging of Phase One files along with adjustments settings applied to the RAW (with no changes to the original RAW).
3. Support for JPEG and Tiff flies as 'Input' files - v4.7 will allow you to adjust JPEG and TIFFs similar to RAWs.

Does this mean that the original 5D MI can now tether also as they are both via USB?

Only officially supported on Leopard. There are reports of some Tiger users. YMMV.

my Tiger experience with the initial release was no fun at all.

I guess that Phase is already aware of this, but the stability of 4.7 on OSX appears to be much worse than that of 4.6.2.

Thanks for following up on this, much appreciated.
I was not able to come up with a reproducible scenario, but I have had numerous crashes when doing operations like:
- apply correction of exposure (I belive +1.x stop if I recall)
- copy conversion parameters settings between raw files
- crop operation
The env I am on is:
OSX 10.5.6
8 core intel first gen
32GB RAM
Images were losless compressed raw files from the D3x
Folder containing about 300 images
The machine was not under stress at that time, I believe that PS was running but mostly idle, and Autopano pro must have been running in the background
I used to do similar operations on the very same machine with a much higher workload on 4.6 and had a few crashes, but far an apart compared to what I am now seeing with 4.7. I seems that other people have experienced similar issues and have already moved back to 4.6.2 which I am considering myself too.
Things are not too bad since I do personnally not have any important deadline these days.

The rotation operation has some problem in 4.7 and is causing crashes when used many times during one sitting. This may be the cause of much of the instability and the reason why most users are finding 4.7 very stable while others are finding it unstable (those who rotate often vs. those who do not rotate often).

No rotations here though... there is another problem.

is it in new sessions or in already existing sessions (with already existing setting and especially already processed images) or in both?

I think it is in both.
- I did select "new session" the first time I used it after installation, and it did crash during that session,
- It did also crash during further usage of the same session.

ah, okay. So no hint to something I've seen here: I've opened older sessions (on Mac) created on Windows. Once clicking on an image already processed (with the wheel icon) C1 crashed. Not immediately but when I tried to open the menu "adjustments" (to delete the wheel icon). Therefore I tried older Mac sessions (imported from Macbook created with 4.5 I think) and though no chrashes responsiveness was critical again with images already processed. Just tried to reproduce it again but now it seems to work fine... for some reason (maybe because the output folder of the recently imported sessions is within the sessions folder.... so according to the sessions preset of C1). Anyway... sorry that I can't help.

For someone using 3.78, and not changing cameras, and is rather comfortable and accepts the way it handles Exposure/ Focus /process...Is there anything 3.78 is missing compared to 4...?
Basically, is it much of a upgrade for someone not changing cameras?
For the time being, I use it to shoot tethered to the Mac. fyi, I have looked over the website, and I didn't dig enough to find comparable differences. The info did jump around a bit, so I rather get feedback from actual users.

I've noticed my color and luminance number values that used to appear on the top of the viewer have disappeared, did I accidentally turn them off somehow? I can't seem to figure out how to get them back on, I only noticed after i updated to 4.7 and I'm wondering if this may have something to do with it?
