Post by: lensfactory on March 25, 2009, 12:18:18 am
Mentioned in another posting....
What is the widest non EOS (fd,zeiss.....whatever) available at a reasonable price.I have the 17-40 but need an ultrawide for my 5d. Looking for a cheaper alternative to the Canon 14mm L.

I have Sigma 12-24, so cheap, i saw some members on another forum successfully attached 10-22 on the 5D [tricky], so how wide do you want to go? i see my 16-35L is really amazing wide even i use 24-xxx most of the time.

There is a sigma (or maybe a tamron) 14mm review on this site.  Probably not great for a 5d mk ii but for a regular 5d....

Take a look at the Sigma 14mm F2.8 EX, half the price of the Canon. Great results using a 1Dmkll and a 1N film camera...
