Title: HELP! Contax 645 + polaroid back
Post by: revaaron on March 21, 2009, 03:39:11 pm
I know this isn't a MFDB question, but I loaded up some film in my polaroid back for the first time and I have no idea how to do it.. or what I did. I think I did it wrong cause when I pulled off that backing piece like the picture showed nothing happened. any pointers would be less costly.

anyone?

Open the Polaroid back, load the Polaroid pack with the black paper facing the dark slide. The film will be exposed when you pull the dark slide and hit the shutter. I always gave the film 90 seconds to process if the temperature was above 72 F.

ok... I did that... but how do I pull out the film? where does the film come out? looks like #10 some how gets pulled out first?
Does it come out between the rollers? The tabs with the numbers sit in that reservoir area?

ok, I did exactly what the directions look like they are telling me to do. When I pulled out the black piece no film tabs cam out and if they did, it would be the one numbers 1 which is on the bottom and not the top.

now that that dark plate is gone... I can sort of pull #1 out, but #1 is the furthest polaroid film from the lens. #10 is the closet to the lens, but I see no way for #10 to be pulled out. The back cover is blocking the back of #1 from being exposed.

It sounds like the film is in backwards, or somehow you are pulling on the wrong tab. Have you tried confirming with other camera's unstructions that you did it right? Here is one:

Yeah, that looks like what I did, but when I pulled the black piece, no white tab came out. Also in the picture there, it also looks like picture number 1 is the one that is pulled out, but #1 is at the bottom of the stack and #10 should be the first one that gets pulled out, but keeping all the numbered tabs in the reserve.

looking there, the the black tab doesn't come out between where the rollers are?
I might be more confused than ever.

ok, looking at this video here

looks like he does in fact pull tab #1.
I think I've already ruined things.
I'm going to have to try this tomorrow.
