Title: Sigma 12-24 EX on full frame
Post by: ErikKaffehr on March 18, 2009, 12:44:46 am
Hi,

I published some initial samples from my Sigma 12-24 EX on Pbase: http://www.pbase.com/ekr/sigma_12_24 (http://www.pbase.com/ekr/sigma_12_24)

These pictures are processed to a certain degree. Lateral chromatic aberration may have been reduced and sharpening may have been done.

In my impression the lens is quite OK. It does lack corner sharpness at least at 12 mm, but that is pretty extreme on full frame and the Alpha 900 used is quite demanding. For full resolution klick on "original" size.

Best regards
Erik

I have the same lens on the a900. I find it's not bad at 12 mm, but very poor at 24 mm - especially compared to the CZ 24-70!
I use the lens from 12 to 17 mm, but not longer. Good deal for the modest price.
