Title: Phase P25+ or P45
Post by: Gary Yeowell on March 07, 2009, 03:15:49 pm
Sorry if this has been asked before, i tried a search and nothing came up.

Given that used/refurb these are around the same price, can anyone offer any advice as to which offers the better image quality for low ISO shooting only and often long exposures, in terms of colour, artifacts etc. Urban landscape, travel, etc.... no studio.

Insights would be appreciated.

Regards, Gary.

Gary,

Take a look at some of our tests and comparisons on our web site:

http://www.captureintegration.com/tests/comparisons/ (http://www.captureintegration.com/tests/comparisons/)

http://www.captureintegration.com/tests/phase-one/ (http://www.captureintegration.com/tests/phase-one/)

The new P+ backs can do up to 1 hr. exposures, but the standard P45 can also do long ones too.  If you are planning on doing landscapes and going large, I might recommend going with the P45 @ 39 MP vs the P25+ @ 22MP.

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions that I can answer for you.

I thought the P45 refurb was out of stock? Hence why I've been forced to look at the P30+ refurb in the Phase One family.

Easton, refurbished backs are a mystery for me... I think it depends on which dealer you have... When I bought my back I asked to 3 different vendors and I had 3 different answers... Maybe, if you can, you should ask in different country, maybe also here in Europe... perhaps Germany, it seems that everything it's cheaper than in the rest of EU !!

So, does anyone have anything recent for Germany, for P25/P25+, P30/P30+, P45/P45+? For Contax, in case this is important.

Refurbished Phase One digital backs vary from dealer to dealer.  Depending on which mount and flavor back you want,
some dealers may have what you are looking for.  The fact does remain that the supply of refurbs is dwindling.
