I'm contemplating the purchase of some ZF lenses for a Canon 5D ll. Simple question...... will the Canon give me focus confirmation?
Thanks for any reply.....

If you buy an adapter with a chip on it, it will.

Do you mean ZE lenses? If so, they do provide focus confirmation. At least my 50 1.4 does.

So that rules out the Novaflex - right?
Thanks for the reply.

No..... I mean the ZF lenses. Zeiss doesn't make the 100 or 50 f2 macro in a ZE mount.

I have Canon and the 100 ZF...no focus confirmation. I wouldn't want it anyway, for my apps. Never tried the chipped adapters though (mine from Cameraquest).

Does live view function? That's the only 'real' focus confirmation I would trust other than an image on my computer.

yes, liveview isn't dependent on focus confirmation.
