I've just received the advance copies of my first book. Next week I'll have the balance (100), many of them are already intended to go to perspective clients and publishers but if you're interested in one contact the studio. We'll do the best we can to send one out to you. My cost is 30.00/book, please mention LL and I'll send it out for cost plus shipping (one to a customer at this time). I'm going to look into PayPal to see if they'll handle the payment situation. Thanks for everyone's support!! You're welcome to email me at jim@haefnerphoto.com. Jim

Thanks Everyone! Monday, I'll have my office manager look into the best way to arrange for payment and shipping (I think it'll be FedX). Jim

looks fantastic. PM and EM sent.

Hi Jim, do you need everyone from the earlier thread to write to you again?
-
Hi James.
Hope you have one left for me too.
Congratulations.

It looks as though I've had about twenty responses for books and I think that's about what I can send out from this first run of 100. I can print more if there's interest, I suggest emailing me at jim@haefnerphoto.com and I'll start a list for the next printing. Thanks, Jim

Jim congrats on the book I'm sure it's a wonderful collection of your awesome work.
I hope you will sell a lot of them.
-
Thanks Frank, Actually, the main reason for printing this piece (it's 66 pages) is self promotion. At the same time, I'll send copies to publishing houses to see what kind of response I get. If it's positive I'll have to beef up the page count (shoot more cars). It's been a good learning experience so far and the idea actually came from articles in PDN (last September) on the photographic book business. Of the next 100 books I print, I'd have to sell half of them at 60.00 each to break even, so I don't think sales at this time will be a very profitable venture. Perhaps down the road with a publisher and much larger volumes I could make a few bucks. By the way, I'd like to plug the printer, Paperchase Printing in Los Angeles, they did an outstanding job! Jim

Book received yesterday - fantastic stuff!
If ever another, larger, book was printed I'd be interested in that too
-
Same her, received yesterday. Many images are already known naturally but I am very happy with it. If you ever decide to publish a larger version Jim I am definitely taking one!
-
I too received mine yesterday. Wonderful images and printing. If there's a new edition, may I suggest changing the binding to something that will allow the pages to lie flat. Right now, the double-page images are, to put it mildly, butchered.

Mine arrived yesterday, thanks very much, and the work is at least as beautiful as I had hoped. That Peugeot is especially gorgeous! The accompanying letter was an extra bonus, nice touch. Good luck with publishing and if you do get a deal, consider blowing up the Peugeot build-up pictures at the end, they are also very interesting (at least to me).

Hello Jim.
I just emailed to you.
thanks,

I want to make sure that we didn't mix up anyone's order. Has everyone who sent a check or paid thru paypal received your book? Let me know if you haven't and I'll look into it Monday. Thanks, Jim

Hi, Jim,
I've just come back from Japan this week, but have sent payment. I wouldn't expect the book to be here just yet, but I did want to confirm that you (Karri, actually) have received the payment.
Thanks,
Brad

Have open a paypal account and paid recently: payment was confirmed by Karri as well as information that book was sent the same day.
Thanks for your follow-up!
Best regards,

Dang, I must have been busy when you posted this Jim as I completely missed it.
I think studio car photography is mostly verrrry boring, but your work is something else.
-
Brad and Thierry, I did see packages go out to you, they should arrive shortly. JJJ, thanks for the compliment, when I print some more I'll let everyone know through this thread. Jim
-
Got my copy today as well.
Many thanks, Jim - looks wonderful.

Hi, Jim,
Wonderful, wonderful images! Thank you so much for sharing your work with the community -- your lighting is impeccable (and the subject matter ain't half bad either)!
A lovely first book and a real treat just to sit back and enjoy the work; I love it when that happens.
Thanks again,
Brad
P.S. The book arrived with a ding in the corner that went all the way through the book, despite the cardboard backing. I guess the post office was a little rough, but stronger packaging might be something you want to consider if you do end up doing a commercial run of this or some future book. Mine is fine, but returns are a real pain.
-
Brad, I'm glad you like the book! Many thanks for the compliments. Sorry about the shipping problems, we will have to see what other options are out there. Jim

hi Jim,
I have got my sample as well, 2 days ago, and I am sure that it's worth its any single drop of ink! I could not admire it yet, since I let it being sent to my parents' place in France, too scared it could disappear in Thailand and before reaching my home. I'll have to wait for my next visit in April to look at it.
Thanks and best regards,
Thierry
