Title: catalogue on usb stick

currently i am carrying my main catalogue on a hard drive to be able to access it from various computers. as there are now big usb-sticks available, is there any problem in using one of these for the catalogue?

Not really - other than they are easy to loose and subject to the usual sort of USB memory stick problems like data corruption etc.

Personally, I wouldn't use one for a LR catalogue. I have had 2 USB sticks die on me in the last 6 months... mind you I also had 3 Maxtor hard drives all fail within the space of a week earlier this year - so you never know...

Now I RAID EVERYTHING, and store another hard drive copy in my safe and another hard drive off site.

disk failure is a problem, i know, but this is what the backup function is for.

but is there a technical problem to use a stick?
