Michael,

I am really sorry to hear about Alexis' passing. Please give my sympathies to your wife and to her family.

Your project was a tremendous idea and, although one can bemoan the inadequacies of a health care system that does not provide for those who really need it, you helped buy her another year of life -  I hope that a lot of it was spent with friends like you.

My very best wishes from this side of the pond.

François

Very sorry to hear this

You did a fantastic thing for her Michael, I'm sure the gesture lifted her as much as any treatment could.

Michael,

once in a while, unfortunately not very often, I come across things that make me stop and think. Your fundraising effort was such an event. Thanks to you and Teja you allowed us to participate and make that little difference to a total strangers life.

The pictures are very special to me in deed, not only because of the amazing prints, but much more because they became a constant reminder to me, to stop once in a while and remember with what little effort we can make an tremendous impact on people's life in difficult situations.

Peace
Georg

Now there is a line worth remembering in its own right.

My condolences Michael on the passing of your friend.
But how uplifting it is to know that the memory of her lives on in every one of the prints you created.

It is just.... there is so much suffering, and I still intend to hold on to the idea, that we are quite capable to create something more intelligent as a social common ground to exist on! In my understanding however, we are required to find new definitions for that very common ground....

In my personal experience, such tragic moments bring us back to the reality of our own, as a matter of course, but we are trapped in the selfinflicted illusion of a few. - I have no better explanation for the current so called "crisis". <hehehe> -

A very serious matter of course, with high death count, naturally!

When I saw Michael's call ~march 08, I decided I want to meet him in Toronto, which I did in october 08. Asking him about it, he mentioned that a substantial amount was realised, which I thought to be very pleasing in deed and made me proud to be a member here!

Best wishes
~^..^~
