Title: D70 questions
Post by: BJL on February 02, 2005, 03:14:36 pm
They have exactly the same sensor sizes: 23.7x15.6mm. In fact all of Nikon's DSLR have essentially the same sensor size (along with Fuji's Nikon mount ones); they vary by at most 1%. So lenses give the same field of view.

I need to buy (not for myself) a backup for a D1X. Two questions:

1. Is the sensor the same size in each -- in other words, will we get the same view from a given lens in both the D1X and D70?

2. Is the 12mm zoom a good lens? And how rectilinear is it at 12, compared, say, to the 17mm zoom on an F5? Please don't make me do any math -- on the rectilinear question, just say "very", "pretty good" "not so good" or "poor" compared to the 17 or some other widely available Nikon lens.

Thanks.
