I was wondering about a couple different things pertaining to hiring a digital tech. I would appreciate it if you could weigh in and answer any (or all) of the questions. Many thanks!!
1 - How often do you hire a DT? Every job, only large jobs, only complicated jobs, etc?
2 - For those that do hire DT's, do you generally hire independent techs or do you hire through studios, rental houses, etc?
3 - Do you hire techs to work your own equipment, or do you hire DT's who provide an entire set cart (MFDB, tower, UPS, printer, etc) of their own?
4 - What sort of day rates do your techs bill? For just the tech by himself? For a tech with a full set cart?
5 - When you travel, do you hire a local tech or do you fly out your "home-tech"?
6 - And finally, can you recommend any good techs in the NYC market with experience working on location?
Thanks again!
