Hey Joel,
If you hadn't pointed out the moon, I'd perhaps not have noticed it - something I have found myself, that its 'presence' is much greater in real life than the camera can record without resorting to comping or ludicrously long lenses.

Off topic - have you thought about editing out the "proudly powered" bit in the blog footer - it seems rather folksy to me and has nothing to do with the photos. Most people don't care about the server side underpinnings (do they?)

It is always difficult to take good photographs at RMNP.  You did a great job on these.  On the Sprague lake photo with the moon, I would have shot this 10 min. earlier so the moon is not so close the the horizon line.  I find it a little distracting instead of adding to the overall feeling of early morning.  About mid September is a great time to see the Elk in RNMP.  I missed it this year but did get to Aspen and Maroon Bells during peek foliage.

Do you live in Colorado?
