Hi John
Oh crap! I just installed C1 V4.5 and also upgraded to Lightroom 2.1. I'll bet they are going to fight over which application sucks in the raw files unless I turn off the auto import feature in Lightroom 2.1. They really do need to fix this. I can't auto import into Lightroom with C1 V4.5 installed on my PC. I'm running XP SP3.

It is a very annoying feature indeed.

I haven't bothered to upgrade to 4.5 - but when running the Beta, plugging in the iphone would launch C1 4 to import the pics from the phone - it was so annoying. I haven't upgraded for other reasons - but I can't believe that there isn't a way to disable that function.

From the Finder, launch Image Capture (Applications>Image Capture).
Pull down the menu Image Capture>Preferences.
From the command: When a camera is connected, Open: Select No Application.
That will disable it. Even if it is pointing to iPhoto, C1 Pro seems to launch the importer. It must be set to No Application.

This is for the Mac platform - it's in the applications folder.
However, I've been asked for a remedy for Windows, and I don't know of an equivalent, so I'll have to get back to you on that.

I'm using mac, not sure why it isn't in the apps - maybe I unistalled it a long time back. So without this application I cannot set the preferences for Capture One - seems a shame to rely on another application to set preferences.

Sorry my mistake - I do have it. Still I'd say the above point about relying on a third party app to set a pref.
