I am likely to upgrade to CS4 sometime next year and then change platform from windows to a MacBook Pro 15", which should work very nicely with my ACD 23". I don't mind having to get a new external hard drive, as these things are quite cheap nowadays. But, will the Mac be able to read the files Raw/Jpeg files on my existing NTFS formatted external hard drive, DVD back-ups?

Go to Google and type in Mac NTFS and you'll get all the information you need. Basically NTFS drives are mounted as 'read only' on a Mac, but there is 3rd party software that allows you to get around it.

I would just add that free solutions such as NTFS-3G work pretty well (website: http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/) (http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/)) and are easy to install.
