No, I'm not kidding.
This one is on the remote island of Rathlin off the Irish coast.
Picture this.
Standing and the back of a dark, cold cave,
Shivering while you take the 5 HDR exposures, the longest being 1 min
.........whilst being totally naked !!!!!

Lovely image, although there was perhaps a little too much information about the circumstances behind the shot. Naked . . . cold water . . . shrinkage . . . I will try to keep my mind's eye pointed in the same direction as the camera.

Bizarre.
My approach with HDR is to take a subtle approach. These caves are dark after all.
As to why? Well because it is there of course. Where's your sense of adventure?
A photo of this cave has never been published before.

Well HDR or not HDR aside... I think it's a lovely picture of that cave, almost has a painterly feel to it.
So from me you get two thumbs up.. now if i could just wash the SECOND picture out of my eyes ;D

This is why I have to use HDR. This is an earlier cave in the series.
You can see that these places are impossible to photograph using traditional single exposure techniques. My exposure blends span 10 stops of exposure and 18 stops of dynamic range.

Ah, I see,
This was taken on a remote island off the north coast of Ireland and I had to mountain bike for miles up and down hills with limited space for a wetsuit, waders or a dinghy. This isn't exactly car boot landscape photography and every bit of gear gained a place on merit.
The idea was to travel light. I probably should have taken my dry bag for my camera. But I just improvised by tying my waterproof jacket around it.

You should try to be a woman, that would make this story even more appealing to me.
Other than that, nice pics! I support totally your approach to HDR, it has to remain subttle to work.

Very Nice, the image has a great feel to it, I really like the subtle mix of the fog. Just like any tool in your bag HDR can be used in a variety of ways and a beautiful image can be the right result if in the right hands.

Sorry, I forgot to say, "nice picture!" Do you happen to have a color version? I would love to see some deep, saturated, near black colors in the rocks.

Andy, love the shot. And who cares if we see more or less of you in the pic where you are walking into the cave. We do what we have to do to get a shot .... especially when we're hiking/backpacking/camping, etc. Why should the pic even cause any comments? Geez
