Hello,

I am interested in getting the NEC Display Solutions LCD2690WUXi monitor,but want to know if anyone thinks this ld might be replaced with a newer model soon or has heard anything about a new one? since it's about a couple of years old now.

It's couple of months old rather than years. I wouldn't care that much about it, 'couse it's good enoughl. If you want to buy something "trendy", consider something from the latest panels with LED backlight - HP LP2480zx, or LaCie 724 (there's also a smaller 720 (20") and larger 730 (30").
