Title: Who is going to fotokina ?
Post by: Frank Doorhof on September 02, 2008, 04:31:54 pm
Are there any LL-ers going to photokina ?

If so maybe it's fun to meet up somewhere ?

I will be there probarbly the whole week, the first two days I'm at the Leaf booth for little workshops/seminairs and after that of course visiting the fotokina itself.

So I wonder who will also be there.

I will be there, but I don't know when. Soon as possible.

Köln is 1h1/2 - 2h00 from home with car. This could be my 14th or 15th Kina !!

Was giving thought to going but with the dollar so poorly valued against the Euro it could get expensive
.
Any one get rates in US$ for a decent hotel/where do you recommend?

Best airport to fly into for cheapest fares?

Thanks,
Jack

Best is to find a "B&B": there are many private locals proposing this at reasonable prices, but probably you will have to be out of Köln.
However, trains and buses are well organized and plenty.

Best regards,
Thierry

In the past I flew into Amsterdam and stayed in Venlo (in the Netherlands, near the border with Germany) and I think it's a great location if one isn't staying in Cologne.

I got the train times and ticket prices shown below on the following site:
http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml (http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml)
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/bhftafel.exe/en (http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/bhftafel.exe/en)?

Venlo to Cologne: 1 hour 31 minutes for 16.80 Euros
Amsterdam to Cologne: 2 hours 37 minutes for 55.60 Euros

Happy traveling. I wish I was going!
