Title: FS: Nikon LS-8000 film scanner
Post by: mikeseb on August 29, 2008, 02:42:28 pm
Nikon LS-8000 film scanner with standard film carriers (35mm neg, 35mm mounted slide, 120 film), power and firewire cables. Has had steady use but has never been damaged or dropped, and is cosmetically and functionally excellent. Image quality is superb. Latest software and drivers available on Nikon's support website.

Due to packing required for safe shipping it will likely be expensive to ship abroad, but I'm happy to field inquiries. Taxes, duties, customs fees, and the like are the responsibility of the buyer.

$1300 plus shipping. Check or money order fine (must clear); PayPal preferred, instant transfer only--no eCheck.

PM if interested. Ebay username mikeseb1. Thanks for "looking".

First, you can't rely on ANYTHING you see on the "CambridgeWorld" site.   Just go and try to order it and see what happens.  Do a search for "Cambridge Camera" or "Cambridge World" and read the reviews and read the horror stories.

Second. The have been NO new Super Coolscan 8000's available (or even made) for a few years now.  Its hard to even get an new Super Coolscan 9000, the scanner that replaced the 8000 about 4 years ago.  Everyone is out of stock and has the 9000 on back order.

At best, the listing for the 8000 on Cambridge World is just an old web page that never got taken down.  At worst (and this would be true to form), it is a come on designed to snare a sucker.  Either way, there is no "there" there.   They couldn't possibly have a new 8000 for sale at any price.

The poster's price for his 8000 is quite reasonable and is easily consistent with it's value relative to a new 9000 (if you can even get one anytime soon).
