This is fun and I guess new, I had not seen it before, from Phase One...
http://www.phaseone.com/Content/p1digitalb...e/Strength.aspx (http://www.phaseone.com/Content/p1digitalbacks/Pplusseries/Extreme/Strength.aspx)
Typo by the way, the title was to be:
"Parking your car on your MFDB"

NO wonder they cost so much.. all the broken one generated during the testing

I hate to nitpick, but when they show the back that works the jack is still there. They lowered the vehicle, but by how much? All other shots show backs under 1, 2, 4 wheels, but none of them are shown working. Maybe just the way they shot it, but it made me wonder...

Someone parked a car on my Pentax 6x7 once. I definitely wouldn't recommend it with that camera.

The big risk is not having an SUV run over your back, but rather you dropping it to the floor from 3 ft height. Lets stay tuned, maybe they´ll do the test.

Are they resorting to stupid advertising now...
Why don't they spend more time on the C-1 4.0 Pro application instead of making ridiculous commercials that are pointless....

The ad reminds me of the D3 videos on youtube, the ones where the guy pours water over his camera, and knocks nails in etc, a total waste of time.

Actually I am hoping the continue the series, it's fun. Maybe do like the old Samsonite commercials where they give a suitcase to a bear and let him try to get into it.
And I am waiting for someone to say we need to see 100% RAW crops from the Phase and a IDSMKIII after the abuse to see how they really compare in 3D or whatever. HA!

That youtube video is a final piece of evidence that the iron maiden should be put back into service.

their scientist reminds me of this guy:
I love that guy! "Get free money to pay your BILLS!"
Anyway, isn't that test kind of the same concept as a shirtless man laying down on a bed of sharp nails? ... or maybe not.
Cheesy, either way. Especially the pictures on the tiny LCD screen of "Dr. Claus" giving the thumbs up. LOL

Just what I thought. It's shock-resistance that's most important.

Showing the attributes of your product is not a bad idea and the Phase back is tough so they want to somehow get this across.
The problem isn't the concept, the problem is the sophistication of the marketing.
Shooting any moving image piece that carries a message and holds a level of quality takes a lot of planning and production and a great script.
Where most of the camera companies, actually most companies in general confuse their message is when they forget the humanity of who they are selling to.
You would assume Phase's customer base is professional photogaphers and the resulting marketing piece should be on a professional level.
Anyway with moving imagery it's always the script and the execution.
This is a medium budget clip from an editorial house I work with. I didn't shoot it, though I find it completely amazing in it's ability to connect on a human level.
To make this type of vehicle takes talent, a thoughtful hand and a level of respect for the subjects and the viewer.
It also takes a compelling story.

Not much of a sports fan, but that clip was really well done, James. You've certainly illustrated your point!
