I have a low mileage Mamiya ZD back available. It is in great condition and has maybe 500 clicks total on it. This back is full-frame, 22 MP and produces excellent files. Also, the ZD back is somewhat unique in that it has a removable IR-Cut filter and optional clear glass sensor filter to allow direct IR capture. My intention was to keep the ZD back for dedicated IR capture and back-up to my recently purchased P45+, but the reality of cost of entry to the P45+ dictate I sell the ZD back. This back includes BOTH the original IR-Cut filter AND optional clear IR capture filter, a $400 option. IF buyer of the back does not want the clear filter, I will sell it separately, but buyer of the back gets first option on that. Also included is an extra battery, and of course, all of the original items including box, case, charger, cables, software, IB, etc are also included. Asking $5800 for the back, $400 for the optional filter or $6100 for both.
Note that this back will fit any Mamiya 645 AFD, AFD2 or AFD3 body, Mamiya RZ-D body or a regular Mamiya RB or RZ body with AFD adapter plate. Also note that AFD body and 80mm lens combos regularly sell used for under $1000, so this is an economical way to get into MF digital.
PS: Lightroom or ACR will process the ZD raw files beautifully.
Email me at jbflesher-at-msn-dot-com if interested.

The new version of C1 4.1 will also process the ZD files and does a great job of it. Nice back and nice way to get into MF

Do these things still have issues with the purple splotches and things which were discussed when then ZD was introduced?
I am interested, but wary...

I have not had any issues at all with mine. There is one fellow that has made it his mission to complain about his early ZD CAMERA, and the CAMERA may be different from the back -- but again, I have had zero problems with this back and it produces outstanding files...
Cheers,

I did some shooting with the 645ZD and found it excellent. I have been published a few times with it including a cover.
I had asked MAC Group (the US distributor) about the "purple blob's" stories. I was told that early on in the first shipments there was a problem with a few of those, but they were all recalled and replaced.
And MAC Group has been very reliable to me so I have no reason to doubt them.

Hi Ian:
I am not surprised as the IQ from this back is about identical to the Aptus 22 or older P25 (non-plus)...
-
I also had this same back and it is extremely nice value for your dollar and no i had no issues with it either.

Price drop before hitting eBay: $5500 for the back kit with all factory supplied accessories.
-
IR filter has been sold. Price of $5500 and I'll include three EXTRA batteries and a compact additional charger -- so 4 batteries and 2 chargers in all.
-
Bump. Some interest this past week, but no takers, so it's still available. Price drop to $5400 to move it.
