Title: Image of the Month on Luminous
Post by: dwdallam on May 31, 2008, 02:32:41 am
I've been doing and wanting to do more people type photography, but after seeing Michael's image of the month today, I was eager to get back to Landscape!!

That shot really talks to me. It's very logical having big, bold patterns, light and dark contrast, and curves and thirds all in one.

Plus, the seagull in the middle of the foam circle is a perfect touch in that it gives the mage real life instead of being very abstract. Maybe it's just me in the moment, but that images, for me, is a show stopper for some reason. I love it.

Ah you ruined it for me! Still, I think the bold contrast, curves, and  simplicity are what I like about it.

No fooling.
The Niagara River is among the more polluted bodies of water on the planet, with all the industrial effluent from four of the five Great Lakes "represented". That soap scum on the water most days is a very unattractive tan/brown foam. Ugh. You tend to get pretty saturated by spray when you stand anywhere near the falls itself; I definitely recommend keeping your mouth closed.

It's white not brown, though.
